Students will learn how to assess a piano to see if it is worth repairing. We will then learn how to decide what repairs to do on a piano. Standard repairs that will be done on our piano will include but are not limited to:
- New strings
- New tuning pins
- New hammers
- New keytops
- New key bushings
- New bridle straps
- New dampers

The piano will also be stripped and refinished and students will participate in this process.

After the parts have been replaced, students will learn how to adjust the mechanism so that the feel is optimum. This includes key regulation, action regulation, and pedal regulation.
