Home WESTEND PIANO
17 Ronald Drive
Montreal West

Westend Piano is a fully functioning rebuilding shop in a three floor building. The top floor is mostly storage for a moving company that resides in the building. The second floor is the shop and showroom. The first floor is the piano storage and moving company storage/garage.
On the first floor there is a medium sized room that has about 20 old pianos in various states of repair. This room is the primary room used for the repair course.
For the tuning course, this room is used sometimes for demonstrations, but students are sent to different parts of the building so they can tune as far from each other as possible to reduce the noise of another person tuning, which can distract considerably.
You need to know that this is a working rebuilding facility and moving company and as such, there may be times when there could be some noise that might be distracting. All effort will be made to inform the workers of your presence and most of the time they have been co-operative. On occassion they have had deadlines and have had to run power tools for example for a short time, but on the most part, they are considerate to our challenge in the course.
I mention this because sometimes students arrive expecting to see a traditional "classroom enviroment". We are very fortunate to have permission to use this building for our classes and without the generosity of Doug Yeats, owner of Westend Piano, these courses could not be offered.
If you are expecting or looking for a traditional classroom experience, you may want to investigate some of the other colleges that offer year long courses.
